3-4 hours ago, one of a nice and funny girl's daddy passed away. Her dad was her angel, her pillar of strength and everything. And she's pregnant now, so her dad was going to be a grandpa next May. But he didn't survive through this.
I don't personally know her, but I follow her on instagram & snapchat because she's really funny and opinionated about life/things in sg. She's straightforward and down to earth. Such a pity...

Her dad was 52, my dad is 55. She's 22, and I'm 21. Technically we have older fathers than most people (correct me if I'm wrong but most of my friend's dad is below 50 years old). She's the only child just like I am. She's married, and expecting her first daughter, and she's happily living a good life.

And it got me thinking of my daddy.

Few months back, he suspected himself of some heart problem, and my grandpa (his dad) died of heart attack. So he went for check-up and was diagnosed with mild heart blockage, but can be controlled by medicine. These few months, before I left house for work, I gotta make sure he's awake & alive before I step out of the house. And I make him messaged me if he wanna sleep somemore, or he's awake after that. Just to reassure.

My dad, is short and has a fat/bulging tummy. He has this moustache that he has grown since he was 18. He loves Liverpool FC since forever. He has a soft spot for desserts just like me. He has two really cute dimples which he rarely shows.

My dad is really smart, and he's a really talented cook. Thai, chinese, western also can. Well he's not entirely perfect, he has a really stubborn character, and he has a mouth that only criticizes people but doesn't criticize himself -_-

He's the sweetest dad to me. He sends me to work when I need to reach early, he fetches me from work when I'm really tired/sick/lack of sleep. He helps me to collect my shopping parcels. He would cook my favourite food to lure me home. He taught me that money doesn't grow on trees, he taught me that life doesn't need to be just working 9-5, he taught me how to protect myself at all cost because he would not be there forever to protect me.

He's not exactly the man I would wanna marry, but he is the man that I want to have as a Daddy, a mentor. What would I do without you? I don't know how many more years you have with me, but I hope you see me marrying the man who can protect me(lol don't need protect me actually), love me, care for me, be there for me at all times, and that you walk me down the aisle. I hope you get to see your grandchilds, carry them while you are sane (and not dementia). I hope you get to see me achieve great things in life. Oh wells, please don't leave me without seeing all these. I know I couldn't make you proud by wearing a cap & gown, but I do hope crown and gown would do?

I love you daddy.
From your princess. <3
